Safety Adviser/Trainer

The Opportunity


We have a full-time Safety Adviser/Trainer position available to join our team based at the Perth Airport (West facility).


Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the administration and implementation of an occupational health and safety activities plan aimed at reducing the incidence of accidents within the company
  • Supply Induction and other safety specific training to employees and contractors
  • Conducts regular safety inspection audits and recommends specific accident prevention control measures including those related to safety training
  • Assists port leadership and provides WHS advice to stakeholders in regard to safety and risk prevention with guidance and clear guidelines always available
  • Assists Managers/Supervisors maintain compliance with the company safety policy

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role
  • Completed Cert IV in WHS or higher combined with experience in applying this knowledge in a work environment
  • A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Understanding of law in regard to industrial relations and workers' compensation matters
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation
  • Knowledge of the WHS system development
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Sound knowledge of statistical analysis, ergonomics, safety investigation
  • Experience in job safety analysis, risks and hazard management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accident investigation techniques
  • Knowledge and experience of Injury Management & RTW procedures
  • Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
