12-month Fixed Term Contract

 

We are seeking a highly strategic individual with deep experience in Industrial Design and Process Improvement within a large manufacturing or transport and logistics setting. This role will be responsible for optimising production processes, improving system efficiency, and reducing costs through data-driven analysis and process redesign. 

 

More about this role:

A highly hands-on and business critical role that will lead the study, analysis and recommendations on improvements to work-flow functions, actionable efficiencies within our operations, review and correct utilisation of personnel within departments, and overall system optimisation in our production. This role will regularly meet with, and share findings, as well as present quarterly dashboards and final recommendations to our Senior Leadership (SLT) and Executive Leadership (ELT) teams.

 

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

  • Focus on enhancing quality through process redesign and better use of systems.
  • Managing efficiencies and reducing redundancies in our supply chain process
  • Ensuring full safety compliance in accordance with company requirements
  • Constantly driving continuous improvement initiatives against success measures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring open two-way communications 
  • Sit on and lead selected projects that involve our catering and production processes 
  • Advise ELT necessary resources and access requirements for conducting research
  • Promote sustainability and green initiatives within our operations where possible
  • Foster a sense of operational excellence, whilst trying to achieve cost effectiveness
  • Understand causation and effect in relation to costing decisions
  • Ensure continuous review and regular feedback sessions to SLT and ELT.
  • Present easy to read 'dashboards' that summarise data findings
  • Process Optimisation - analyse and design efficient systems and processes to maximise productivity and minimise waste
  • System Design and Implementation - develop and implement new systems or modify existing ones to improve production
  • Cost Reduction - Achieve cost savings through process improvements, resource optimisation, and recommending effective cost management strategies.
  • Quality Control and Assurance - ensure product and process quality by implementing robust control systems, audits and troubleshooting.
  • Supply Chain and Inventory - manage and optimise the flow of raw materials, goods and services through the production system.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting - collect, analyse and interpret operational data to drive decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders and final decision makers

What do you need to be successful in the role?

  • Demonstrated track record of success in a previous Industrial Engineer or similar role
  • Post Graduate qualifications is highly desirable such as Masters in Industrial Eng.
  • Qualified in Time Study, Performance Metrics, MTM, MOST and use of Tec Time.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems and LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Exposure to Airline, Logistics or Catering industries preferential
  • Extensive ERP Systems knowledge (ideally Oracle based products)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement mentality and drive for results
  • As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a cleared National Police Check.
