So, what does a day in the life of a Storesperson look like? As a Storesperson, you are responsible for the timely and efficient acceptance of inbound goods and stores destined for use in our catering area. Your role helps keep our operations running by ensuring incoming orders match what has been ordered and that all deliveries are stored safely and in the right place, in both our dry and cold stores areas.
You will use inventory systems to track stock levels, rotate products, and keep the stores area organised and efficient. Throughout the day, you’ll work closely with your team, move between cool rooms and dry stores, and handle equipment and supplies with care.
It’s a fast‑paced, physical role where attention to detail matters and every task contributes to flights leaving fully stocked and ready for service. In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are: - Receive and check all incoming orders, ensuring they match the original order.
- Ensure delivered items are packed to acceptable hygiene and other specifications.
- Ensure the correct process for receiving perishable items is adhered to at all times.
- Stock management, ensuring the availability of goods and rotation where necessary.
- Ensure goods required by the Catering team are available on time and in required quantities.
- Assist with Warehouse organisation, ensuring stock is stored effectively to maximise space availability for deliveries.
- Follow all Food Safety, Health and Hygiene policies, including HACCP, IFSA and QSA
What do you need to be successful in securing this role? - Current Forklift Licence (high reach preferred).
- Experience using manual and automated pallet jacks.
- Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving items.
- Good knowledge of basic Food Safety, HACCP and HALAL (desirable)
- Strong understanding of storehouse procedures, including stock handling, organising and safe storage practices.
- Good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound numeracy skills for accurate documentation and reporting.
- Excellence organisation and time management skills.
- Availability to work 38 hours a week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
- Neat and tidy presentation with a strong focus on hygiene.
- As you will be working in the aviation services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
