So, what does a day in the life of a Catering Attendant look like? As a Catering Attendant, you play a key role in creating a memorable dining experience for passengers onboard some of the world’s top airlines. Depending on your assigned area, your day may involve plating and assembling meal components, stocking and organising airline carts, or ensuring equipment is cleaned, sanitised, and ready to fly.

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are: - Prepare, portion, and plate meals following visual presentation guides.
- Assemble meal trays to airline specifications and load into airline carts.
- Stock airline carts with packaged food, beverages, and equipment.
- Load and unload dishwashers with cutlery, crockery, and glassware, and check they are clean and in perfect condition.
- Follow all Food Safety, Health and Hygiene policies, including HACCP, IFSA and QSA
- Communicate and coordinate with the team to ensure delivery schedules are met.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role? - Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound numeracy skills for accurate documentation and reporting.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as move and lift items.
- Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster.
- Availability to work 38 hours a week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
- Neat and tidy presentation with a strong focus on hygiene.
- Sound knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP (desired but not essential).
- Basic knife skills (desired but not essential).
- As you will be working in the aviation services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
