INJURY MANAGEMENT ADMINSTRATOR OR ADVISOR

 

We are excited to invite a motivated Injury Management Administrator / Advisor to join our national team, to be based at MEL,SYD or BNE Airport, on a full-time basis.

 

More about this role:

Reporting to the Manager, Employee Relations, the Injury Management Advisor, will play a key role in supporting injury management across dnata catering & retail, administering and coordinating rehabilitation programs. You will ensure the timely and safe return to work of injured and/or ill employees within the local business unit. You will also promote a positive health and safety culture.

 

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

  • Ensure affected staff member is properly triaged and that proper care and professional medical treatment is available
  • Acute post injury phase, liaise with site management immediately following up with affected staff member
  • As soon as appropriate, record accurate account of where, when, how and why injury has occurred.
  • Where possible, be involved in the initial doctor’s consultations for the injury.
  • Maintain contact with site management and or injured employee, to monitor progress of their recovery and return to work.
  • Manage the workers compensation function with a focus on proactive injury prevention strategies
  • Develop and implement initiatives that contribute to overall workers compensation strategic objectives.
  • Drive the return-to-work program and overall management of workers compensation claims within our insurer framework.
  • Coach management and drive organisational education with regard to responsibilities in relation to relevant legislation
  • Manage all legal correspondence, enquiries and representations relating to workers compensation matters and Workers Compensation Court
  • Manage the Company’s Return to Work (RTW) program, including improvements to the system, policy, process and supporting tools
  • Ensure that insurers are provided relevant employer information when they are preparing documentation for IME to optimise the quality and relevance of the reports
  • Work closely with the Injury Management Coordinator to ensure they can provide support and leave coverage when required
  • Contribute to a safety-first environment and work within Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines at all times.
  • Develop strategies and methods to reduce time lost and improve the RTW experience, including working with all parties to ensure participation and co-operation for a return-to-work plan
  • Work to improve the regular reporting processes so that leaders across the business have data that is useful, actionable and able to support decision making
  • Provide administrative support to the local People & Culture team for long term absent employees, following the companies Fit For Work process.

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

  • Rehabilitation and RTW training/qualification or similar would be highly regarded.
  • Workers Compensation / Injury Management Coordinator training, Cert IV Personal Injury Management would be an advantage but not required.
  • Demonstrated capability working in a similar position within a multi-site organisation.
  • Understanding of applicable State / Territory Workers compensation schemes (case management experience will be highly regarded).
  • Strong time management and computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to build effective and influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as an awareness of multi-cultural and diverse workplaces.
  • Current full driver license would be an advantage.
