Watch a short video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xqf4mvwm3E0 About the role As Junior Legal Counsel at dnata Catering & Retail, you will support the business across the Asia Pacific region by providing practical, commercial legal advice. You will support corporate governance, compliance, and commercial operations, assisting to ensure contracts, processes, and decisions meet legal and organisational requirements. Reporting to the General Manager, Legal & Company Secretary - Asia Pacific, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to deliver practical legal solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Review, draft, and assist with the negotiation of commercial contracts with customers and suppliers, including Requests for Proposal/Tender responses.
- Provide advice on contract interpretation, KPIs, service levels, and termination rights.
- Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of legal and contractual risks, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure compliance and achieve business outcomes.
- Prepare legal analysis, advice, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and external advisors.
- Support corporate governance processes and assist in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
- Effectively collaborate with senior leadership, external advisors, and global counterparts.
- Contribute to process improvements and stay up to date with legislative and industry developments.
- Establish, organise, and maintain legal matter files in accordance with organisational policies and legal practice standards.
About You - Law degree required; in-house legal experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ post‑admission experience in legal advisory and/or commercial contract work (private practice, government, or in‑house).
- Proven ability to partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to undergo and provide a clear pre-employment medical and National Police Check
