Operations Leading Hand (Driver)

So, what does a day in the life of an Operations Leading Hand look like?
This role will ensure the delivery of service to all airline customers in line with operational schedules and safety requirements, while also leading a small team of Customer Delivery Drivers.
As a member of our airside team, you are the face of dnata catering out on the tarmac and are responsible for the very important task of correctly loading catering onto the aircraft. To do this, you need to load fully stocked aircraft trolleys onto our hi-lift trucks and drive a short distance to the aircraft.
In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
Assist in leading and coordinating the team members in the Customer Delivery Department.
Ensuring that productivity and performance criteria are met in the designated area of responsibility, including completion of regular performance assessment reports;
Organising and coordinating work within their area of responsibility;
Assist the supervision of catering trucks within a designated work area to ensure they reach and load-up the aircraft safely and on schedule.
Lead by example and perform all the duties of a Driver.
Assist in training and inducting workers within a designated work area.
Organise and coordinate work within the designated work area.
Performs administrative documentation and reporting duties as required.
Follow up on any discrepancies and ensure flight loading is correct.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
MR or HR drivers license required.
Ability to perform frequent manual handling tasks.
Flexibility working around flight schedules is essential.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Neat and tidy presentation.
As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
Demonstrating leadership, decision making and organisational skills necessary to efficiently meet performance requirements in a changing work environment.
Hands-on and display leadership by example.
Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
