We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and full-time Catering Schedule Coordinator to join our Melbourne Airport team to develop and administer local production schedules designed to effectively and efficiently meet our Airline customers orders.

 

The role reports to our National Manager, Data and Planning, and supports our Business and Operational Managers to achieve production targets, through the use of data capture tools, performance monitoring and analytics reports. The Catering Schedule Coordinator (CSC) will bring together key data to support accurate planning, forecasting and scheduling of work programs within our ERP system, and collaborate with key stakeholders of the business to ensure we achieve consistent cost-efficient and profitable output.   

 

More about this role:

This role is the conduit for bringing together the Master or Local Production Schedule (MPS/LPS) in order for our departments to commercially cater high quality, bulk inflight meals and meet strict deadlines for our various aviation clients. As a part of the centralised Data and Planning team, the CSC will work across Production, Menu Planning, Supply Chain and Equipment areas of our business, to map workflow and set an operating model for matching resources to our customers requirements.  

 

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

  • Work closely with the ‘Menu Development & Operational Teams’ to setup data and processes that capture all the business and customer requirements through the end to end production process
  • Develop and administer Local Production Schedules (LPS) for all Flight Schedule / Demand driven activities designed to efficiently produce customer orders. 
  • In collaboration with all operational Line Managers and other key stakeholders - take ownership to maintain and improve daily, weekly and monthly production schedules to ensure consistent best practice is achieved across the business.
  • Accomplish complex functions of planning, forecasting, estimating, measuring and scheduling of work programs within our ERP system and other resource tools
  • Provide expert advice to the operation to coordinate equipment availability to support delivery of the production plan
  • Drive the development of scenario planning and “what-if” analysis pertaining to the optimisation of the production schedules, and plan for risk contingencies. 
  • Collaborate with and support Line Managers to ensure a consistent approach to the development of a feasible LPS that supports KPIs and financial targets
  • Continuous and regular planned communications to the Business and key operational managers establishing a feedback loop to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Attend local & corporate meetings on daily, weekly, monthly basis or as requested.

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

  • Previous scheduling, forecasting, planning experience
  • Exposure to manufacturing, food distribution or transport logistics industries.
  • Mon-Fri availability with occasional flexibility with weekends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, solutions focused.
  • Analytically minded and loves process mapping.
  • Experience with ERP systems and volume data entry highly considered.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational / time management skills.
  • Able to recognize & reprioritize resources based on changing conditions.
  • Able to handle challenging situations and time based deadlines.
  • As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
