The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced, confident, and highly organised Operations Leading Hand (Driver Shift Supervisor) to join our Brisbane Airport team on a full‑time basis.
This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for coordinating a large team of Customer Delivery Drivers, ensuring safe, efficient, and on‑time delivery of catering services to our airline partners. What You’ll Be Doing
As an Operations Leading Hand, you will play a key role in the smooth running of our airside operations. Your responsibilities include:
Leadership & Team Coordination
- Lead, support, and motivate a team of Customer Delivery Drivers.
- Allocate daily tasks and manage workflow to meet operational schedules.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and provide coaching where required.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.
Operational Delivery
- Oversee the safe and timely movement of catering trucks to aircraft.
- Ensure accurate loading of inflight meals and equipment.
- Perform all duties of a Driver when required, leading by example.
- Monitor productivity and proactively address issues or delays.
Administration & Compliance
- Complete shift reports, rostering tasks, and operational documentation.
- Ensure all safety, security, and compliance requirements are met.
- Follow up on discrepancies and ensure correct meal loading.
What You’ll Bring
We’re seeking someone who brings both operational experience and strong leadership capability. To be successful, you will have:
- A clean HR driver’s licence (essential).
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team‑leading role within transport, logistics, aviation, or similar fast‑paced environments.
- Strong decision‑making, organisational, and communication skills.
- The ability to perform manual handling tasks and work safely at all times.
- Flexibility to work around flight schedules.
- Eligibility to obtain a clear National Police Check.
- A hands‑on leadership style and the ability to set the standard for your team.
- Availability to work 38 hours per week in a full‑time rotating roster environment.
