We are seeking a hands-on Leader with experience in a similar role to join our Brisbane Airport based Catering team. This role is more than just delivery of goods, it is the face of our business, responsible for the final destination for our much loved, award winning, restaurant quality meals and airline equipment bound for departing aircraft.

More about this role:

Reporting to the Customer Delivery Manager, this role is responsible for supervising all aspects of the dnata catering & retail customer delivery strategy, and all operations from the catering centre to the aircraft. You will assist in the optimisation and integration of an end-to-end catering delivery service.

In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

• Manage day to day shifts (AM and PM rostered shifts)
• Supervise all staff (Drivers, Marshallers) and Operations Leading Hands
• Coordinate all activities associated with Labour activities and Aircraft movements, to achieve accurate operational KPI's
• Push collaboration through systems and processes with internal and external customers to avert delays and ensuring service level agreements are met
• Undertake all possible actions to prevent delivery delays or any downtime
• Investigate all delays to root cause level and implement any corrective actions or make recommendations
• Support the Leading Hands and/or Allocators in managing daily operational variances and assist with the decision making in operational matters
• Support management with Team Performance and provide effective development and coaching to ensure we get the best out of our team members
• Ensure all staff are compliant with relevant governing bodies and their regulations such as Airside Driving Regulations, Food Safety, AQIS Customs and Border Force Regulations.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

• Proven Leadership experience in a Logistics, Manufacturing or Transport setting
• Ability to manage a large multinational workforce of up to 100 team members
• Experience with customer service, inventory control, and management systems
• Strong understanding of WHS and Safety First mentality
• Displays business and industry acumen understanding
• Previous success achieving KPI targets and adherence to HSE requirements.
• Ability to build constructive and effective working relationships in formal and informal networks with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to energize team members to a shared vision, inspiring high performance
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and act on initiative
• Proven adaptability to changing environments
• Holder of a HR or MR License is compulsory
• As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check (at our cost).
