We have an exciting full-time opportunity available for an experienced Food Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our high performance team at Brisbane Airport.

What does a typical day look like?

You will be responsible for supporting the National Food Safety Systems & Document Manager, in maintaining compliance to all food safety, auditing, and Halal certification. You will be required to work in all parts of the operation and to provide advice, education and training to employees at all levels. 

In a nutshell, what are you main responsibilities?

• Conduct compliance audits with the FSSDM and report findings to key stakeholders, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

• Support staff inductions with the OHS Specialist in line with company and legislative requirements.

• Provide expert advice on Food Safety, HACCP and Halal matters to internal and external stakeholders.

• Investigate and analyse customer complaints, food safety incidents and supplier non-conformances.

• Maintain current knowledge of State and Federal Food Safety legislation and industry standards.

• Coordinate and conduct internal Food Safety/HACCP and supplier audits, including reporting outcomes.

• Identify improvement opportunities to minimise food safety, environmental and compliance risks.

• Manage microbiological testing programs and analyse results.

• Identify non-conformances, investigate root causes and support preventative actions.

• Deliver training and guidance to strengthen team capability in Food Safety, HACCP and risk management.

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

• Previous experience and demonstrated success in a similar role
• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or similar discipline
• Food Safety Auditing (Internal and External)
• HACCP Qualification
• Prior experience in a large food manufacturing environment involving QA, HACCP, and Food Safety
• Prior experience in working within a team
• Prior knowledge / experience in ISO22000:2018 certification
