We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic catering operations team based at Perth Airport. This is a fast-paced role critical to ensuring the seamless supply of goods, supporting production demands, and maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards.

About the Role

As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for purchasing, receiving, and managing stock to meet operational demands. You will play a key role in maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting efficient catering operations in an airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders and supplier relationships
• Coordinate deliveries with production and kitchen teams
• Monitor stock levels, rotation, and storage
• Ensure all goods meet quality, hygiene, and safety standards
• Track expiry dates and minimise wastage
• Conduct stocktakes and maintain accurate records
• Resolve delivery discrepancies and supplier issues
• Maintain clean and organised storage areas
• Ensure compliance with food safety and WHS requirements
• Support cost-effective purchasing and continuous improvement

About You

• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment
• Confident using ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel & Outlook)
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, QSAI, WHS) is highly regarded
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain) preferred
• Airline catering or food industry experience is advantageous
