Catering Attendant

The Opportunity

 

Our busy Sydney Airport kitchens are looking for motivated and flexible Catering Attendants. These are casual positions based at the dC catering units in Sydney South and North.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, presenting and the correct handling of all produce and airline catering materials
  • Plating of meals, set up of food trays as directed and in line with customer specifications
  • Packing and replenishment of carts and packing of equipment carts
  • Assisting Chefs in food preparation as directed
  • Operating equipment used to assist in meal assembly
  • Basic use of knives and machinery
  • Performing such tasks in accordance with Company specifications so as to comply with hygiene, quality, safety, performance and customer service standards
  • Cleaning kitchen work areas (food preparation and presentation) and scullery areas of the kitchen, including removal of waste
  • Ensuring the work area is clean, hygienic and restocked at all times
  • Storing food in temperature controlled facilities and follow stock rotation procedures
  • Producing or packing product to customer specifications
  • Ensuring adherence to Cart Packing Plan (CPP)
  • Adhering to the company’s policy in relation to HALAL, HACCP, QSAI / Food Safety, Workplace Health and Safety, Quarantine and Customs
  • Working in other areas of the unit for part or whole of shift basis to meet operational demands

Selection Criteria

  • Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts across a 7 day week on a casual basis
  • Experience of working in a food environment
  • Fine motor skills
  • Access to own transport
  • Strong numerical skills 
  • Sound knowledge of WHS & hygiene
  • HACCP experience
  • Impeccable presentation and grooming
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
