The Opportunity


We currently have several exciting positions available for suitably experienced Leading Hands (internally also known as Flight Assembly Crew Leader) to join our busy catering unit in Sydney (dCAT) on a full-time basis, producing consistent, high quality culinary items.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and competently performs all duties of a Senior Catering Attendant and Catering Attendant.
  • Supervise, train and induct team members within designated work areas in all internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that KPI labour, materials & shrinkage costs and DIFOT performance criteria are met in the designated area of responsibility.
  • Skilled use of knives and machinery
  • Assist with stock control and minimise food wastage
  • Perform administrative and reporting duties, including the operation of communication and computer aids
  • Perform such tasks in accordance with Company Specifications, to comply with hygiene, quality, safety, performance and customer service standards
  • Work in other areas of the unit for part or whole of shift basis to meet operational demands

Selection Criteria

  • Flexible availability to work a variety of morning and evening shifts across a 7-day week
  • Experience of working in a food environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Basic knife skills and fine motor skills
  • Access to own transport
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP, WHS & hygiene
  • Impeccable presentation and grooming
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy operation
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrating leadership, decision making and organisational skills necessary to efficiently meet performance requirements in a changing work environment.
