Offering a suite of services, we are more than an inflight caterer. We also manage buy-on-board catering programs, provide inflight retail solutions, operate airport lounges, and provide readymade meal manufacturing for export, airline, and non-airline markets.


The Opportunity


We currently have a position available for motivated and enthusiastic Driver to join our busy team at our Canberra catering unit on a casual basis.


This is not a usual driver role! You will be driving trucks in tarmac, servicing multiple aircrafts, loading and unloading carts, ovens and standard units. You will also be required to work in other areas of the unit for part or whole of shift basis to meet operational demands.


Key Responsibilities

  • Performs driving duties (short distance)
  • Preparation and packing of catering equipment
  • Liaises with airlines staff and hand over delivery
  • Communicates in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintains the company’s policy in relation to HALAL, HACCP, food safety and WHS in accordance with company policy
  • Responsible for marshalling the Driver on the tarmac to position the truck in line with company / airport / airline policies
  • Carries out basic serviceability and maintenance checks of vehicles and/or equipment, including refuelling of vehicles
  • Performs administrative documentation and reporting duties as required
  • Follows up on any discrepancies and ensures that flight is correct
  • General cleaning duties

Selection Criteria

  • Must have a current MR or HR driver’s license
  • Fork Lift license preferred yet not essential
  • First Aid Certificate preferred
  • WHS qualifications preferred
  • Flexibility in regards to working around flight schedules is essential (7 day per week operation)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • A satisfactory police record required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform frequent manual handling tasks
